Carlijn is a Partner in Dalberg’s Johannesburg office. She has worked across a wide range of sectors, most notably in financial services and healthcare, focusing on large scale transformation programs. This includes healthcare system design and operational improvements, identifying and scaling best practices, adapting both solution and scaling approaches to target groups and organizations, and developing best practices through rapid improvement cycles and pilots. In implementation, Carlijn has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and alignment, including executive coaching and developing and running middle management training and coaching programs to enhance change readiness and build required new skills.
Prior to joining Dalberg, Carlijn spent seven years at McKinsey & Company. She has also worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, focusing on Official Development Assistance as part of the Dutch diplomatic corps. She previously worked for a grassroots development NGO in Delhi.
Carlijn holds a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science (with honors) from the Eindhoven Technical University, a first-year diploma in International Relations and Political Sciences from the University of Amsterdam, and she has followed diplomat’s training with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
